When you contact us about a puppy, we hope you realise that you are not simply asking about a puppy that is available.

You are introducing yourself to the person who brought that puppy into the world, who has watched over every breath from the moment it was born, who knows its personality as it begins to unfold, and who has already poured an immeasurable amount of love, time and care into giving it the very best start in life.

Our puppies are not products, and finding them a home is not a transaction.

That is why we care about who you are.

We want to know about your life, your family, your expectations and what draws you to the Akita. We want to know what kind of home our puppy may grow up in, because when the time comes for one of them to leave us, we are not looking for the first person willing to take them home. We are looking for the person we can trust to love, understand and care for them for the rest of their life.

Of course, the price of a puppy matters and you are always welcome to ask. But if price is the only thing you want to know about us or our puppies, we are probably not the breeder you are looking for.

Choosing a breeder should never come down to finding the cheapest puppy. Look for someone whose dogs you admire, whose values you share and whose approach to breeding you believe in. Ask questions. Get to know them. And expect a responsible breeder to want to get to know you in return.

Because the choice goes both ways.

We carefully choose the families who become part of our puppies’ lives, just as we hope those families carefully choose the breeder they want to place their trust in.

Our responsibility does not end when a puppy leaves our home. Every puppy born at Kireina Takara will always remain a little piece of what we have built, loved and hoped for.

We don’t simply look for homes for our puppies.
We look for people worthy of becoming part of their story.
